What award did Dana Bina receive in 2025?
Dana Bina received a Marketing Excellence Award from the British Columbia American Marketing Association (BCAMA) in 2025, recognized in the inclusive marketing category. The award was presented at BCAMA’s Marketer of the Year Awards in Vancouver.
Why the recognition was given
Inclusive marketing is easy to state and hard to practise. The recognition reflects work that treats inclusion as a marketing discipline rather than a communications theme: who is represented in the audience being built, who is invited onto stages and sponsor lists, and whether the pathways an organization creates actually lead into decision-making roles.
In practice that has meant widening speaker and sponsor pipelines at TEDxWestVancouver, mentoring newcomers and early-career marketers who arrive with strong credentials and no local network, and pressing for programmes measured by the opportunities they produce rather than by the diversity they display.
About BCAMA
The British Columbia chapter of the American Marketing Association is the province’s principal professional body for marketers, running the annual Marketer of the Year Awards alongside professional development and mentorship programming for the BC marketing community.
What it changes
Practically, an award is a signal, not a conclusion. Its usefulness is that it makes the underlying work legible to organizations deciding who to invite, hire or partner with — and it puts a professional body’s judgement behind an approach Dana intends to keep arguing for.
